Apple has another reason to be proud. A new British survey has revealed that iPhone- owning men impress more women.

The poll conducted for mobile phone retailer Phones4U saw more than 50 per cent of women admitting they would rather date a man who had an iPhone. Surprisingly, 37 per cent of the women expressed more confidence in men who carried iPhones than their counterparts flaunting HTC or Blackberries.

To some women ownership of an iPhone by a man was indicative of a reasonable level of disposable income. Some even desired men engaged in certain professions, with computer-literate males finding favour with several women.

While unable to explain the association between a computer-literate man and his character, Lucy, a 23-year-old primary school teacher, said they seemed more trustworthy.

Even as the survey gives men owning iPhones another reason to flaunt their gizmo, others need not give up on their desire to date a beauty. Men who are socially at ease, follow TV soaps regularly and have a good sense of humour also scored quite well with women.
